We went out tonight for Laurel's birthday. Dinner at her favorite pub in Uptown then ride the trolly, coffee and tea in hand, down to Clyde Warren. Such a fun night with best friends.

Baby got bit. I found this bite mark during bath time . She had pants on at school so I didn't see the mark until then. It's not uncommon for kids her age to bite because they don't have the words to express emotions. Usually her teachers send home an incident report but I didn't get one today so it must have gone unseen. I'm sure it wasn't without tears.

107.365 Surgery Anniversary

One year ago I was in surgery to correct complications from Crohn's disease. I am so thankful for all four doctors/surgeons involved and endless Baylor hospital nurses and staff that helped me during my eight day stay. I have been disease free since the surgery and to celebrate my health I bought a groupon for one month of unlimited crossfit classes and started today. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!

I drink a protein shake everyday for breakfast. It's a quick and easy meal to go. Aside from the blender noise in the am, it's perfect. Here is the preblend.

Tonight was a rough night for me in mommyhood. Phillip has small group so I'm home alone. Tegan sleeps really well most nights lately but every so often she has a bad night. Tonight was a two hour in and out of her room meltdown. You're supposed to have all the answers when you're a mommy right? A good bit of the time I feel very lost and unsure of what to do as a parent. Until she can talk it's a big guessing game. Is she sick, hungry, teething, does she have a fever, did she just wake up and is having a hard time going back to sleep? Being a mommy is tough work I tell ya! By God's grace I strive to do the best job I can with his help knowing that it's a lot of sacrifice and it's not always fun.
